Last weekend was 16th Double Decker Arts Festival in Oxford, MS, and it was the first time it had ever been over two-nights.  Old Crow Medicine Show started the weekend off right on Friday night with a fantastic concert in the street. Then Saturday, was a great day of art shopping, fair food eating, and music listening!  For about 30 minutes, the clouds started looking like something out of Ghostbusters where the big ole marshmallow man comes out of the sky.

On to the photos, starting with three of my favorite things (in no particular order!)

Henry loves wheels!  He loves just turning them in his fingers.  We predict he’s going to be some kind of mechanical engineer!  Maybe even a NASCAR driver (Grandpa Klimetz would love that!)

Pops loves to make things with wood!  He has his own woodworking company in London, England, and is a master of his craft.

So when you combine some wood, an awesome workshop, a baby’s love of wheels, and a crafty carpenter, you get a pretty gnarly dragster!

Enjoy the photos of our creation!

Folks, just some quick images from our trip to Italy. Be prepared for a ton of photos of Henry!!! But what else would you expect, really.

Henry you are awesome! He learned to wave just at the right moment, all the Italian ladies loved him, thinking he was waving ‘ciao!’  And yes, we did fly halfway around the world so H could play on some fence railings and ride the swing!

Next up on the blog Merry Ole England

P.S. to the world…One day I would like to visit a location, and the main attraction not to be surrounded by scaffolding!  Honestly, I’m not asking for much.

The Italians loved their doorknobs!  Doorknobs everywhere!  I was able to grab a ton of doorknob shots while in Italy.

One day, I shall own a door worthy of such a doorknob.

Which doorknob is your favorite?

Folks,

I am just speechless.  I really would not know where to begin…

These two ladies were fantastic.  The images were captured on the massive grounds of the Four Seasons Hotel in Florence, Italy.  What a great way to cap off the end of a fantastic trip to Florence, Italy.  First the engagement session of Meredith + Dale all around Florence, then their gorgeous wedding at the Four Seasons, and then to finish with these images…Definitely Gnarly!

Enjoy the pics

Folks, Get ready to get your socks knocked off!  I have the coolest series of blog posts coming up.  Last month I got to participate in an Italian Wedding Workshop.  Basically Dale and Meredith wanted to get married in Italy, and being the very giving people that they are, they opened up their wedding to all us to come and learn some new tricks from the one and only, [B]ecker, and at the same time get some fantabulous images.

It was quite great timing too, Lauren and I both turned the big 3-0 this year, and were looking for a unique way to celebrate it.  So a week to Italy isn’t too shabby!!!

For now enjoy Meredith and Dale’s engagement photos, with many more fun and exciting images to come from the rest of the trip in Italy and England!

One day down three more to go at the 8th annual Oxford Film Fest!  Come on our and come see some fantastic independent movies.  I promise you won’t be disappointed!  Tonight the Lyric hosted the Thacker Mountain Radio show as a kick off for the weekend festivities.  We got to hear from Michael Adams, an author who watched a movie everyday for a year in hopes to find the worst movie ever made!  Then music by Robert Belfour, absolutely amazing Blues man, and from Kenny Brown, whom I have seen often in Oxford many times.  There was also a discussion with Les Blank, who has many films showing at this years film fest.  After the show, the big screen dropped for three films, Werner Herzog Eats His Shoe by Les Blank, Spanola Pepper Sauce Co. by Ray McKinnon (my favorite of the night), and Brothers Justice produced and directed by Palmer Inc.  Oh and Joey Lauren Adams presented Ron Shapiro with an award for his historic Oxford theater , The Hoka!  So folks don’t miss all the great films showing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!
